Railway Valley 2 - Official Guide

The game starts in the year 1800 and ends in 1900, 1960 or 2020 depending on game mode. Within this period of time, several generations of locomotives become available. Every new generation vehicle provides you with more powerful engines, faster train speeds and makes it possible to haul more carriages.

OBSTACLES AND ACCIDENTS
Sometimes there are obstacles in the way of construction. Some of these obstacles (e.g. woods and rocks) you can demolish with a bulldozer and some (e.g. rocks) you need to bypass. Sometimes it’s easier to bypass an obstacle than to demolish it. If you often demolish natural obstacles and monuments, the respective fines are raised. The percentage of saved nature is counted when the final score is calculated.

If train collision occurs, you have to pay fine which amount depends on the number of lost carriages.
Sometimes some railroad sections wear out and crumble. In this case you need to reconstruct the old rails. Sometimes natural disasters happen (earthquakes or floods). A groove or a swamp which remains after accidents can be removed with a bulldozer.

TRAINS AND STATIONS

To construct the whole railroad network you will need to join many little railroad sections in different ways. There are many types and figures of junctions you can construct (e.g. rings, parallel tracks, dead ends) and also several restrictions (e.g. you cannot build triple switches).

You can directly control the trains, clicking on them to change their direction. You can control the switches as well. All switches are highlighted with dark gray (red if blocked). If the train reaches a closed junction or a dead end, then it starts to move in the other direction.
When a train reaches destination station you get the bonus for each delivered carriage. If you allow a train to arrive at the wrong station, it will reverse it's direction and leave as if it hit a dead end.
